Surgical Services Director

An interim Director of Surgical Services is needed at a small, Joint Commission accredited hospital in the upper Midwest. The SS Director oversees Day Surgery, OR and PACU. The OR runs 2 rooms daily and 1 scope room daily. Average operating room volumes are 350 cases/month. The interim must be an RN with strong OR leadership skills, familiar with a rural surgery department and block scheduling. Looking for an interim director with a teamwork approach, who can provide guidance, direction and keep processes working smoothly. This is a union environment; qualified candidate must bring union experience. The interim must be an RN with strong leadership skills.

IT Director

Medium size, CMS accredited heart hospital needs and interim IT Director. This is a working manager position. HMS Healthcare Management Platform with finance, HR and payroll modules. The hospital does not currently have EMR, the interim Director will work with Consultants in preparation for an EMR install. Clinical information system to be added later and also possibly a new platform. Responsibilities include a busy LDR (~10 beds), private bed post partum/family care GYN surgery (~30 beds), NICU (~30 bed) and a pediatric unit (~20 beds) with 300 deliveries/month. Not–for-profit, Joint Commission accredited hospital system (~ 300 beds total) on the West coast needs an interim Director of Women’s and Children’s Services. There are 60+ unionized employees and approx. 150 deliveries/month. There are Labor and Delivery rooms, Antepartum/Recovery rooms, intermediate level NICU and Operating rooms (~15 beds) and 2 floors for couplet care. They recently implemented mother/baby care. The department has approx. 30 employees, unionized, with a JIT inventory system of approx. $1 million that stocks approx. 2500 items. Perioperative Services Director - FILLED

Small, physician-owned hospital needs an interim Director of Perioperative Services. As interim Director in this newer hospital you will be responsible for OR, Pre-op, Endoscopy and PACU. Well staffed with approx 35 FTEs. Non-union. The OR has volumes of ~120 cases a month and ~ 20 endoscopies a day. Primarily ortho and general surgeries with a few open-hearts. The hospital has a strong cardiology program and does approx. 100 heart caths a month. The interim will be a visible Director with clinical knowledge, who can address patient flow, integrate new staff into the department and keep the physicians satisfied. The successful candidate will have a background of strong clinical and management experience. Cardiac background is a plus. Located in the West, South, the area is abundant in outdoor activities, fishing, shopping and cultural venues.

Employee Health and Wellness Director

Large (~300 beds), Joint Commission accredited hospital needs an interim Employee Health and Wellness Director. Reporting to the director are approx. 4 FTE’s. Non-union environment. Responsibilities for the EHW Dir include, worker’s compensation, new hire screening and employee clinic. Key deliverables are:
  • Assess the department
  • Identify new opportunities to add value to the department
  • Update policies and procedures
  • Implement the latest best practices in employee health
  • Recommend ways to screen and measure new employees and those returning from leaves of absence
  • Make suggestions to the self insured employee medical plan’s TPA for improvement of medical management
The Joint Commission is due in early 2011. To be considered for this opportunity you will need to have worker’s compensation experience, at least 5 years occupational health experience. Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree and Nurse Practitioner preferred.

Director of Surgical Services

Interim Administrative Director of Surgical Services is needed at a large, South Atlantic, Joint Commission accredited hospital. The department has approx.15 suites including outpatient and performs approx 70 cases/day during busy times. The interim SS Director also oversees Endo, CSS, Pre-admit Testing and PACU. Responsible for 100+ non-union employees with no travelers. Endo, laps, plastics, general thoracic and vascular cases are performed, but no trauma or open heart surgeries. Joint Commission due soon. Areas of needed improvement include patient and physician satisfaction and increasing volumes. The ideal candidate will be a very multifaceted person who can scrub in on cases, provide a strong presence, bring a solid knowledge base to share with the staff and work alongside the physicians. BSN required; Masters preferred.

OB Manager

Small hospital located in California is seeking Critical Access designation and has a need for an interim OB Manager. This is a hands-on clinical manager position. The LDRPs and C-sections are performed in the OR. Post-Op and Post delivery have Coupletcare. Ten to 30 births/month a large number are high risk deliveries. There are approx. 10 employees consisting of RNs and an LPN. This is a full service unit and the Manager will need to provide leadership and structure in all aspects of perinatal nursing across the continuum and be comfortable with the nursery. Bachelors or certification, preferred. California RN license required.

Infection Prevention Program Manager

Large, healthcare system in Colorado is seeking an interim Infection Prevention Program Manager to manage a staff of three including two Infection Control registered nurses. You will have responsibility for the hospital’s surveillance program including data collection, analysis and reporting, remediation and training, maintaining regulatory compliance and tracer audits. Additional deliverables include evaluation of current risk assessment program and infection control plan, leveraging of new software (SafetySurveillor) to increase efficiency and assessment of current department organization and staffing. The successful candidate will have a current RN license, CIC certification, three years management experience and ability to work with infection control software.
